The retail space at Diversity Thrift is approximately 15,000 square feet and contains five furniture rooms with both home and office furniture, more than 50 racks filled with clothes, shoes and clothing accessories, two book rooms with reading tables and chairs, a music room with record albums, CD's, audio and video tapes, a sports/recreation room, a kitchen items room, various shelves filled with knick-knacks, walls with art and frames, small and large appliances, antiques, collectibles, jewelry, pianos/organs and all kinds of other used and donated items. Diversity Thrift is located in the Gay Community Center of Richmond. All profits generated by sales at Diversity Thrift are used to benefit the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities. LOCATION: 1407 Sherwood Avenue, Richmond, VA 23220 The store is behind the Diamond off Hermitage Road and behind Children's Hospital off Brook Road. Sherwood Avenue is located two blocks north of the SPCA and the Salvation Army on Hermitage Road. The GCCR/Diversity Thrift is six blocks from the Boulevard Exit off of I-95/I-64. PICKUPS: Call 353-8890 seven days a week to schedule a pickup! WE PICK UP FURNITURE AND ACCOMPANYING ITEMS. According to health department regulations, we are not to accept upholstered furniture if it has torn fabric or stains. We usually do not send our truck just to pick up clothes or boxes of household items, but will gladly pick them up if there is furniture or large appliances in excellent condition. We do not pick up after yard sales, but will accept most yard sale items if the donor brings them to Diversity Thrift. SHOPPING HOURS: The thrift store is currently open every Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00am to 6:00pm. The store is closed to shoppers on Mondays and Tuesdays. DONATION HOURS: Donations are accepted seven days a week, except major holidays. Donations are accepted from 10:00am to 6:00 pm every day of the week except Thursday when donations are accepted until 5:00 p.m. ITEMS WE ACCEPT INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Furniture in good condition Clean clothes Clean linen Books Record albums/CD's/cassette tapes Videos Art Jewelry Musical instruments Luggage Spinet and other small pianos Other items we believe we can sell.
